LUSH Twilight Bath Bomb

 Twilight bath bomb is my newest favourite bath bomb! I first picked it up because of its pretty purple-ish pink colour with the cute imprints of stars and moons. But my second thought was that as cute as the stars and moons were, this huge purple-ish pink bath bomb looked kinda boring. There are no special decorations like the Sex Bomb bath bomb's cute little flower or sparkles like the Space Girl bath bomb... not even some swirls of different colours like Honey Bee bath bomb! Nevertheless, the sweet smell of vanilla (which I later realized is actually the smell of ovaltine and tonka absolute!) and subtle lavender won me over so I went ahead and purchased it to try it out.
LUSH describes Twilight bath bomb as one of their "most relaxing bath bomb yet." Some of the main ingredients include tonka absolute, lavender oil, ylang ylang, and ovaltine. Lavender and ylang ylang are both famous for their abilities for sooth and relax our mind and body so it's obvious that this will be a great bedtime bath bomb. Tonka absolute and ovaltine contributes to the sweet vanilla-ish scent of this bath bomb. By looking at Twilight bath bomb I didn't expect much surprises but after reading some of its description ( "This one changes colour like the sky at dusk, from pinks to purples and darker still..."), I knew there will be some sort of colourful surprise waiting for me once I drop it in the water!

This bath bomb fizzed away slowly...twirling around the bath tub... and gave off milky pink froth first... and then the blue froth started bubbling out along with pretty sparkles! The bath water itself first turned light pink to purple to blue and my bath was filled with scent of lavender and sweet tonka and ovaltine! It was one of the best relaxing bath I had in a long time!!
During my second use of Twilight bath bomb I cracked the bath bomb in half and took a picture of it (as you can see to the right). More than 75% of this bath bomb (inside of it) is blue with iridescent sparkles.
The wonderful changes of colours with surprising iridescent sparkles will makes you feel like you are floating around in star filled universe! Twilight bath bomb is definitely worth a try! Or, in my case, it worth stocking up!! Oh, but one piece of warning; do watch out for possible residue of sparkly glitters in your bath tub! If you want some some faint sparkles to be left on your skin, try rinsing very lightly or don't rinse at all after your Twilight bath. *Rinsing or not rinsing after a bath is really a personal preference. I personally like to rinse lightly after taking a bath but I know many people that enjoy stronger bath scent to be left on their skin therefore skip the after bath rinsing. If that's the case, just make sure you properly cleanse your body first and is bathing only to enjoy the bath and not for cleansing purposes*

Review: Boscia Luminizing Black Mask

When I first heard about this peel off mask from Boscia I was immediately drawn to try it since peel offs are my favourite types of face masks! One of the main reason why I love peel off masks is because of the simplicity of it: most peel off masks (if you use it correctly) eliminates the rinsing procedure. Peel off mask can be completely peeled off your skin when it dries. Some people that don't apply enough of the product (to make the thick film on the skin to be dried and peeled off later), or don't wait until the mask is completely dry, have difficult time peeling off the entire mask and is left with bits and pieces still stuck on the face which they will end up having to rinse off with water. I will talk more about the correct way to use this product down below but first, let's go over some of the key ingredients and what this product is supposed to do for our skin;
*This product is made with all natural ingredients; some of the key ingredients are Calcium Montmorillionite Clay, Pine Bar Extract, Vitamin C, Witch Hazel, Rosemary Leaf Extract, Eucalytpus Extract.
     *Vitamin C helps brighten skintone and reduce the look of fine lines.
     *Calcium Montmorillionite Clay absorbs excess oil, dirt and toxins from the skin
     *Pine Bark Extract, a powerful antioxidant, conditions the skin and defends from free      radical damage.
*This product claims to be (as on the packaging of the product) "an innovative peel off mask that boosts skin clarity and radiance" by "removing dirt and impurities while refining the look of pores" and "reveals a smoother, brighter complexion."
In my opinion, after trying out 2 tubes of this product in the past 5-6 months, this product actually does do most of what it claims. I'm not so convinced about it boosting radiance of my skin ("radiance" is just too subjective!) but i do feel that it helps to brighten skin clarity. And it definitely does a good job of "removing dirt and impurities" as well as gives the skin appearance of smaller pores along with brighter complexion. These effects seems to last about a day or two.

IMPORTANT: To get full benefits of this peel off mask, you must apply enough of the product (apply on freshly cleansed, towel dried face or after toner or skin softner) so that you have a thick film of this product on your skin. This will make the later step of peel off much more efficient. Only peel off the mask when it's completely dry! Peel off from bottom to top (start peeling from chin area and slowly try to peel off the entire mask all at once). Once you've successfully peeled off the entire mask, take a look at the peeled off mask to see if the mask has "peeled off" some of your blackheads! You should be able to see some of your pore imprints and black heads (especially around the nose area) which will help you confirm that you've used this mask successfully!

Boscia Luminizing Black Mask 2.8 oz sell for $34 USD and $44 CAD at Sephora.
*I was able to use one tube for 11-13 times (keep in mind that i applied a really thick layer!)

Some announcements;
I've been terribly busy so the monthly giveaway for Jan '11 will be posted by Jan 15 2011. I promise the prize will be worth the wait!lol
I'm currently in the process updating my blog. I will have an online store linked to this blog. I plan on expanding my online store slowly and eventually sell my own branded beauty products. This will take time since I'm working on everything myself during my spare time as I already have a profession. Until I'm able to come up with my own branded products to sell, I'll be selling various brand name cosmetics and fashion items as promotional deals. This online store is a private sale site only for my You Tube and Blog subscribers. The promotional sales I'll be having will be my way to show appreciation to my subscribers by offering brand name products at discounted prices.
I'll be starting off my online store promotional sale with Benefit cosmetics products. I'll be announcing the sale via Twitter and You Tube!

p.s. if you are wondering where I get these products to sell and/or how I'm able to sell brand name products at discounted price without losing money....
I have several close friends that own high end retail stores that are able to get me discounted priced products. I'm only able to get limited numbers of products (up to 8-10 of same products at the most, most of the time I'll only get 2-3 of same products) so what ever I list for sale on my online store site please keep in mind that I only have limited numbers of products for sale!
A close friend was working to open a cosmetics boutique but had to cancel her store opening due to personal reasons and she was left various brand name cosmetics that are not returnable as well as more products coming in from companies that refused to cancel her initial orders. So I ended up purchasing a lot of her stocks at very low price.
And that is how I'm able to do this:)
