This post is about my collection of blushes and highlighters that has patterns and/or prints embossed on them. These cosmetics not only look beautiful on my skin but they are also pretty to just look at! One negative thing to point out would be that most of the embossing and prints on these products will fade with usage (unless they are superimposed or patterned in the entire product).
DIOR BRONZE
HARMONIE DE BLUSH
SUNSHINE TONES
001
ROSE BRAZILIA
The different colors in this products makes it a versatile blush, highlighter and bronzer. The gold freckles over the Dior embossing and lines that separate the colors are a great added bonus (as it gives a very pretty and subtle gold sparks to the colors) but unfortunately the gold freckles will fade with usage. The swatch (in above picture) on the right is that of just the center peach-ish color part; the swatch to the left is when all the colors are mixed. This compact comes with a mini brush that fits within the compact; the bristles are soft.
DIORSKIN
SHIMMER POWDER
(POUDRE SHIMMER)
001
ROSE DIAMOND
This is a very sparkly and shimmery highlighter. It can also be used as all over face brightener. It has five different shades ranging from iridescent white, skin tone, baby pink, bronzy pink, and rosy pink. A fair skinned person can use the right side of this product as blush; a very shimmery light pink blush. I can easily use the different colors on their own or mix some or all the colors together depending on which part of the face I want to highlight. I think this product is too sparkly and shimmery to be worn during daytime unless used with very light hand and very minimally to highlight just small parts of the face. This would be a perfect product to be used for a night out; it will give a multi toned iridescent shimmers to anywhere I apply it! I’ve even used this on the decollate:)
DIOR
PODRIER DENTELLE
ILLUMINATING LACE-EFFECT POWER FOR FACE
001 PINK LACE
This is a limited edition product; the compact case is very heavy! The lace embossing will fade with use but the actual color under the embossing is part of the entire product. The very top layer of the lace embossing has added white shimmers. these shimmers are quite chunky, almost like glitter. But with just few uses the glittery layer fades away and you are left with a very light pearly pink powder. the center of the product is shimmery light pink powder. Both color powders are very soft and velvety in texture. This product is definitely better suited for someone who is very fair toned as both shades of pinks are very light and shimmery and it may just look like pearly white on people that are medium to dark toned.
YSL
PALETTE Y
COLLECTOR POWDER
FOR THE COMPLEXION
This limited edition collector powder come in a velvet pouch (as do the Dior compacts) and with a mini fan brush. The light peachy skin tone color is matt finish and the orange-ish brown part (the “y”) has very faint muted shimmers that helps to make the color appear more glowing than a plain matt finished color. Both color powders are very finely milled and apply soft. the colors can be used on their own (the lighter color as all over finishing powder or highlighter and darker color as blush or bronzer) or they can be mixed and used all over the face. Yes the stitching embossing will fade but I’ve used mine over 20 times and the stitching embossing is still there!
YSL
PALETTE POP
COLLECTOR POWDER
FOR FACE & CHEEKS
This is another YSL limited edition collector powder. The light skin toned color in this one is bit more on the cooler tone than the one from Palette Y; it’s a luminescent matt finish that can be used all over the face as finishing powder or as highlighter. The pollen part of both flowers (the pollen on the smaller flower faded) and the lettering of the word “love” are done with glittery deep pink. The flower shaped brown color powder can be used to warm up the face or as bronzer for fair skin tones. The smaller coral flower powder can be used on its own as blush. When the both flowers and the glittery pollens and word is swirled up it creates a very pretty glittery hot pink (not shown in the above swatches).
Both of these YSL collector powders are very good in quality (as expected from YSL); whether used with a brush or powder puff, there is no powder flying around but at the same time both powders feel very soft and are long lasting.
I can’t wait to try the latest YSL collector powders! The below two products are the current limited edition compacts.
Y-MAIL COMPLEXION PALETTES:
“This unique limited edition palette is a true collector’s item. Inspired by the YSL Y-MAIL Handbag Collection, this adorable complexion palette comes packaged in a YSL “handbag” of its very own. Available in two shades: #1 highlights the face with three light pearly shades and #2 highlights the complexion with three luminous silky shades.” (www.yslbeautyus.com)
I can’t wait to try these out!! But which one should I get??? Or both??lol
I do have few more of these patterned and superimposed printed compact blushes and highlighters but for now I’m going to end this blog post here (my eyes feel super tired…lol..maybe I'll talk about rest of the products after I get the YSL Y-MAIL COMPLEXION PALETTES!lol). Please check out the below album for rest of my collection and feel free to ask questions about any products in the album.
