GARNIER B.B. Cream Review

Garnier B.B. Cream (Beauty Balm Cream)
Skin Renew
Miracle Skin Perfector

Garnier B.B. Cream is an instant all in one skin perfecting balm/lotion with mineral pigments. It comes in two shades: light/medium and medium/dark.

This feels more like oil free tinted moisturizer rather than traditional BB cream. Some of the noticeable differences would be, first, this Garnier BB cream does not offer any sun protection like most BB other BB creams do. I read a review that claimed that this product has SPF 15 but no where on the product or box does it say it has any SPF. It has mineral pigments so it may offer some natural sun protection but that would be very low barely-there protection. Second, it only gives minimal coverage. The consistency of this product feels thinner and lighter than most other BB creams. Third, it doesn't offer any blemish treatment or whitening/brightening treatment which are some of the things most Korean BB creams are well known for. It does contain vitamin C for hydration and mineral pigments which helps to give skin more "evened-out" look upon application, but the before and after pictures on the box are definite exaggerations. It's hard to believe that the "barely-there" coverage this product offers can drastically cover imperfections as the before and after pictures claim.

It's not completely useless; it does offer hydration for the skin with slightly evened-out skin finish. But these can easily be achieved by mixing your lotion and mineral powder or cream/liquid foundation.

If you are looking for products similar to Korean/ traditional BB creams, this product should be avoided. If you are looking for a decent tinted moisturizer and you enjoy the strong perfume scent of Garnier products, than you might want to try this!

*I'm typical medium skintone. I wear MAC NC25-30 foundation color; therefore, in Garnier BB cream, the light/medium shade best suited me. The light/medium shade would be too dark for anyone lighter than NC/NW20- Garnier should add fair/light shade to this line! However, since this product only gives a sheer coverage, exact match of product shade to skintone is not really necessary.*

Philosophy Oxygen Peel Review

This is a at home oxygen peel kit from Philosophy that is suited for all skin types. Ever since my experience with the Bliss Spa's world famous oxygen treatment, I seem to be attracted to any oxygen related skin care treatments and products. Philosophy is a brand loved by many and I've also had few good experiences with their products (Philosophy Turbo Booster C Powder 0.25 oz and Philosophy Miracle Worker™ Miraculous Anti-aging Retinoid Pads and Solution to name a couple) so I gladly paid $50 USD for Philosophy The Oxygen Peel while I was in the U.S. (it's also available in Canada).

What this product is formulated to do:
Detoxify, rejuvenate, and replenish your complexion with a deep "breath" of oxygen. This renewing treatment helps to counter breakouts and congestion while minimizing signs of aging and sun damage. The complexion takes on new radiance, becomes more receptive to subsequent treatments, and "breathes" in a dose of refreshment. Try this treatment if you are a fan of in-office medical peels or if you have a big event coming up that requires a stunningly luminous look.

This set contains:

- 2.0 oz Oxygen Foam
- 10 x capsules of Catalase Enzyme
What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens
- Sulfates
- Synthetic Fragrances
- Petrochemicals
- Phthalates
- GMOs
- Triclosan

This $50 USD kit is good for 10 oxygen peels. I've read reviews where people complained about there being not enough of Oxygen Foam for 10 peels and also people claiming there are more than enough Oxygen Foam for 10 or more peels. There were also people claiming that they were able to use one Catalase Enzyme capsule for 2 peels instead of the suggested one peel. And these types of reviews where the reviewers clearly didn't follow instructions and/or decided to implement the instructions to their liking were often the same reviews that complained about this products not being effective and/or not as effective as claimed by other users. My point here is that it is very important to follow instructions provided when using a skin treatment kit that involves various steps.

Philosophy The Oxygen Peel requires four main steps: 1. making the Catalase Enzyme gel, 2. applying the Enzyme gel on the face, 3. applying the Oxygen Foam on top of the Enzyme gel on the face, 4. scraping off the gel and foam mixture off the face using the provided spatula to follow by rinsing off all residue. These four steps are simple enough and along with the pictured step by step instructions that's on the box of this kit, it's not difficult at all. However, if you are type of person that's bad at following instructions and/or don't like to read instructions prior to using products, this is one kit where following instructions is essential!!

The instructions provided on the packaging of this kit is pretty straight forward but do make sure you take the time to look and read all instructions and information before using this kit.

This kit comes with all necessary products and equipments for exactly 10 peels: the only thing that isn't included in this kit is the water needed to make the enzyme gel.

Be sure to use the entire capsule for one peel. Don't try to use half of the capsule!

And be sure to fill the water only half way in the container. One capsule for half filled container! *This is very important! You must use one entire capsule for half water filled container to get the enzyme gel consistency right which will later help oxygen foam develop properly.

Once the enzyme gel is ready, apply a thick even layer all over the face area avoiding eyes and lips. You shouldn't have any enzyme gel left but if you do have some left you can also apply some on your neck area. If you still have some enzyme gel left this means that you either made the gel too watery or that you didn't apply thick enough layer on the skin.

Take some of the oxygen foam on your fingers and spread it out on top of the enzyme gel mixture on your face by lightly massaging in circular motion. Be sure to spread on the oxygen gel lightly on top of the enzyme gel and not mixing in the two mixtures. Go easy with the oxygen foam! You don't need to apply it thick as the foam will develop and get thicken by itself.

After 2-4 mins, take the spatula included in the kit and scrape off everything off your face and rinse with water and you're done!

This product can be used once a week to revive dull skin or if your skin is extra lifeless and dull you can use it three times in a row for brighter and clearer skin. I used it three times in a row and my skin felt clear and radiant and I saw noticeable brightening on my skin. The brightening of the skin can be due to the peroxide content in the oxygen foam which literally does brighten the skin but don't worry it's not strong enough of permanently bleach your skin or anything like that!

Overall, I'm very satisfied with this kit and I will most likely purchase another one very soon!
