AMORE PACIFIC TREATMENT ENZYME PEEL & TREATMENT CLEANSING OIL

Amore Pacific is a Korea-based beauty and skincare company with Asian botanicals as their core ingredients. The main company has many branches of brands in Korea such as Hera, Laneige, IOPE, Sulwhasoo, and etc... The brand being sold in North American department stores and Sephora stores is called Amore Pacific which is same as their main company name. From here on when I refer to Amore Pacific, I only mean the brand and not the main company that houses multiple brands.

I've tried several different products from Amore Pacific, but my favourites, that I've repurchased multiple times, are the Treatment Enzyme Peel and Treatment Cleansing Oil. I first came across these products about five years ago while I was at a Sephora store in New York. At that time, I've been using Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant on and off for about ten years, and Amore Pacific Treatment Enzyme Peel sounded like a similar product so I decided to give it a try. I also picked up the Treatment Cleansing Oil that day. 

Amore Pacific Treatment Enzyme Peel and Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant are both gentle skin exfoliant products formulated with papaya based enzyme called papain. They are both powdered products that are activated with water. They give similar results: a non abrasive exfoliation gentle enough for sensitive skin. I still use Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant once in a while, but it's been replaced with Amore Pacific Treatment Enzyme Peel as a staple for my skincare routine. I use Treatment Enzyme Peel 2-3 times a week and get same results, if not better, than using Daily Microfoliant

TIGI® S-Factor™ Color Savvy™ Shampoo, Conditioner, & "Serious" Conditioner

TIGI® S-Factor™ "Serious" Conditioner has been my favorite go-to hair treatment product for several years now. And last year, I decided to try S-Factor™ Color Savvy™ Sulfate-Free Shampoo and Moisturizing Conditioner.

I initially used Color Savvy Shampoo and Conditioner for few days right after I colored my hair, but felt it wasn't moisturizing enough for my dry and damaged hair: so I went back to using my Fekkai products. The rising popularity of sulfate-free shampoos eventually made me give these products another try, and this time, I used it consistently for the past six months.

Bio-Oil®: Hype or Miracle?

There's been a lot of hype about Bio Oil® for a while now. At the same time, some people are saying that it's just a hype. Critics of Bio Oil® often base their opinions on the limited research/clinical trials behind the product as well as the list of ingredients that seem too typical (for these types of products) to produce miraculous results that are claimed. However, countless anecdotal evidence by consumers that swear Bio Oil® is miracle oil can't be easily discredited. So what does this mean? Does Bio Oil® really work or is it just a hype?

Bio Oil® is based on PurCellin Oil™which is a laboratory created version of duck preen oil; ducks secrete oil from their preen gland that helps them keep their feathers waterproof and flexible. Bio Oil® claims that this manufactured duck preen oil, PurCellin Oil™, increases spreadability of various other ingredients and also allow better absorption. Bio Oil® also contains mineral oil, various vitamins, essential oils, fragrant oils and etc... For list of ingredients with explanation of benefits, I found this site very helpful. 

I started using Bio Oil® to treat scars several years ago. And for the past three years, I've been using it more extensively for various other purposes. Bio Oil® is supposed to treat scars, stretch marks. uneven skintone, aging skin,  and dehydrated skin. I can attest to its effectiveness for the latter three effects, but as for treating stretch marks I can't say much since I haven't experienced stretch marks. But I have heard from ladies having used Bio Oil® before and after giving birth, that it's decently effective in preventing and reducing the looks of stretch
